Cub Scouts and I Tied My Shoe!

Last weekend Gianni and Daddy had to make a Hawaiian themed cake for a contest at a Boy Scouts celebration. The rules...NO SISTERS OR MOMMY HELPERS! After a fabulous football game (he scored a touchdown), Carmen and I headed off to dance and a birthday party and the boys got started on the cake.
In this photo you can see the progression. They worked for hours and were so proud of their creation. Everything on the cake was edible other than two pink flowers.
We headed out to the contest with high hopes.
When we got there I opened the program and found Gianni's name. He was recognized and received a patch. It was a fun family night.
Gianni's den was recognized for their table display at the luau and Gianni won a trohpy for best themed cake in the den. Great job boys!
Miss Carmen had an offical lesson from dad on how to tie her shoe and......SUCCESS! She was so happy with herself.
